Perth, Western Australia | b. 1993

Alexandra Trovato is a photographer and oil painter. She builds collages from a collection of images, bringing fragments together into a scene that never actually happened, then paints from it.

Trovato's work draws from her Macedonian upbringing and the Italian family she gained through marriage, two cultures held alongside each other in her practice. What interests her are secondhand memories of a culture and a time passed down rather than lived, and the idea that identity can be pieced together the same way her collages are.
