Unspoken Hierarchy is a photograph of a collage drawn from childhood memories of Macedonian dining culture, where the table becomes a space shaped by tradition, observation, and quiet power.
The work centres on groups of men gathered around restaurant tables. Their presence feels formal but familiar, held within an atmosphere of ritual. Conversation is suggested, yet much of the meaning sits in what is not being said, carried instead through posture, spacing, and the direction of their gaze.
Hierarchy moves subtly through the composition, not announced but understood. It reveals itself through status, through who holds authority, who carries wealth, who appears burdened by private struggle, and who performs ease. Each figure brings a different history into the same shared space, creating tension between what is visible and what is withheld.
Unspoken Hierarchy reflects how power and belonging are communicated without words, and how social roles are silently read, inherited, and repeated across time.
